Overall objective –

You will be responsible for running an active Permanent and Temporary desk, developing new business through proactive sales activity and placing candidates in permanent and temporary roles with existing and new clients. You will be expected to arrange and attend client visits as part of the role to build relationships. You must also ensure that best practice is followed at all times.

The Consultant will need to thrive on the numerous daily challenges and issues thrown up in the recruitment process, dealing tactfully, responding quickly and thinking laterally to resolve these.

Responsibilities

To achieve personal monthly revenue targets on a consistent basis which will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Managing Director.

To proactively develop new business daily, through networking, developing linked in and social media, your own research, developing contacts and using initiative. Consultants will be expected to develop their own contact and leads.

To build close working relationships with existing clients by keeping in regular contact to follow their recruitment cycles and maximise all possible sales opportunities.

To select, interview, test and work on candidates via CVs received by VWR in answer to advertised jobs.

To search and source candidates for roles briefed to VWR, via jobsites, referrals and through own contacts.

To arrange interviews by liaising with clients and candidates and handling interview feedback from both parties, plus briefing and coaching of candidates. Follow up at all stages of the process through Adapt database.

To build relationships with candidates and clients, through integrity and a professional service, whilst promoting the VWR brand and company values.

To arrange and conduct client visits to new and existing clients on a regular basis and provide follow up reports to the team.

To take new job briefs in a clear and concise manner and communicate to the team, ensuring that any new roles are worked on as a priority.

Updating social media sites such as facebook, VWR website, linkedin, twitter.

Writing copy for job adverts and monitoring response.

Processing weekly payroll, payroll administration, liaising with our accountants and dealing with holiday requests and P45 requests.

Excel spreadsheet updating.

Personal Qualities Excellent communication skills, tenacity, discretion and a positive, friendly attitude. A real team player is essential as this is a small, close-knit and high focussed professional team and we all support each other.

The Consultant must thrive in a fast-moving, constantly changing and challenging environment.

Education, Skills & Experience Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Excellent MS Office skills.
A Recruitment or HR background would be an advantage but not essential.
