Senior Student Finance Advisor.

Our client, a university based in London is looking for a Senior Student Finance Advisor to start ASAP.  This is a 4-month temp role and is paying £24 p/h.

The main duties of the Senior Student Finance Advisor role are:

  • Administration, assessment and disbursement of funds, scholarships, and bursaries
  • Monitoring of and reporting on process developments and fund disbursal
  • Monitor and manage the assessment and disbursement of Federal Student Aid
  • Provide proactive relevant and timely training on student finance matters including statutory provisions to colleagues
  • Planning, management, delivery and provision of information, advice and guidance
  • Ensuring efficient & effective delivery of advice guidance and information and funds and bursary administration
  • To operationally manage the Funds and Bursaries, Campus Payments, and Advice teams
  • Maintaining a personal schedule of appointments
  • Ensure a consistent and co-ordinated approach to successfully delivering the key tasks
  • Planning and the effective and efficient delivery of funds bursaries and guidance services
  • Effectively research & regularly monitor and update the regulations of funds
  • Monitor and research relevant legislation & other developments that affect financial provisions
  • Monitor, review and update the SFFS operating manual
  • To coordinate provision of a confidential financial and advisory service
  • Monitor and develop the financial capability products and services

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in UK Higher Education in a student finance information advice and guidance role
  • Knowledge of the student support systems
  • Staff Management experience in an information, advice, and guidance role
  • Experience of the assessment and disbursement of student financial support funding
  • Project management experience
  • Extensive budgetary experience
  • Able to prioritise, organise and deliver a complex and changing workload under pressure, without supervision and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of training and developing materials for a variety of audiences
  • A methodical approach with a keen attention to detail
  • Advanced in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Teams
