We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Quality Officer to join our client’s team and play a pivotal role in elevating their organisation’s standards and processes. Your role will be crucial in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations, as well as in upholding the university’s reputation for excellence.

Your primary responsibility will be to act as an effective liaison between the School/s and the Academic Quality and Development (AQD) department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Partner Support:

• Develop proactive and effective working relationships with the designated School/s.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the School/s, offering clear and accurate advice on academic quality and standards operations.

• Collaborate closely with AQD colleagues to provide comprehensive support to the School/s.

• Validation and Review Events:

• Support the efficient delivery of validation and review events, including coordinating schedules and event administration.

• Act as the officer to the panel for events, ensuring external accreditation integration when necessary.

• Draft outcome reports for validation and review events within agreed deadlines.

• Work with Schools and Student Journey to ensure timely completion of post-event administration.

•Foster strong working relationships with academic and professional service colleagues across the university.

• Provide accurate advice on quality management, academic standards, and related activities.

• Respond to queries regarding quality assurance roles and responsibilities.

•Establish and maintain professional connections with external parties such as external assessors, PSRB representatives, and collaborative partners.

•Provide officer support for validation and review events at collaborative partner institutions as required.

•Represent the department at internal and external meetings.

•Assist in updating policies and processes, including the annual Quality Manual review.

•Stay informed about guidance from the Quality Manual, QAA UK Quality Code, and other relevant sources.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong understanding of academic quality assurance and enhancement procedures in a higher education setting.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.

• Exceptional organizational skills to manage validation and review events, event schedules, and administrative tasks.

The main purpose of this role is to lead on delivery of regulatory and statutory returns, working with key stakeholders to ensure high quality data and continual process improvement. 

You will be responsible for the coordination, preparation and submission of regulatory and statutory returns.You will have expert knowledge of onward use of statutory data and be able to apply this knowledge to the submissions process.

You will produce high level data analysis and will present this to varying audiences including the Senior Leadership Team to support their evidence-based strategic decision making to enhance strategy and planning processes.

You will pro-actively support the University in its data practices in accordance with Office for Students’ regulations.

You will lead the Planning and Returns team and will support and deputise for the Associate Director of Planning & Insight as required. 

You will plan and allocate work and manage the team and other resources to a high standard to support the needs of the University and a high degree of data accuracy.
