Quality Officer (Education).

Our client, a leading London University, is recruiting for an enthusiastic and focused Quality Officer to join their busy team and is offered on a hybrid working model.  The team develop and maintain the academic quality framework for the University’s taught provision delivered both on campus and at partner institutions in the UK and overseas.

The main duties of the Quality Officer role are:

  • Assist in the implementation of effective quality management systems within the University
  • Support for validation and review, annual monitoring and the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
  • Organisation of designated validation (course approval) and periodic review events across the University
  • Administer the validation & review events including the production of outcome and full reports
  • Provide advice to members of validation and review panels, including external advisers & students
  • Ensure all events are concluded effectively and that all the documentation are appropriately stored
  • Provide regular updates on progress of validation and periodic review activity and outcomes
  • Support senior staff in work related to annual monitoring activities
  • Provide updates on the monitoring plans and produce update reports for committees as required
  • Produce an annual summary of the key themes emerging from External Examiners’ reports
  • Provide support for senior staff on preparations for the TEF at institutional and subject level
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with stakeholders and contributors
  • Represent the department in formal and informal meetings, and other activities
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Plan, participate in projects derived from this process
  • Act as Secretary to University committees or formal working groups/fora/networks

Key areas of experience required for the role:

  • A University degree or equivalent training in quality assurance and enhancement
  • Ability to lead on major projects from initial concept through to delivery
  • Previous experience of working in higher education
  • Experience of admin of quality assurance/management procedures & contributing to the development of policy, systems and processes
  • Ability to implement and advise on quality management procedures
  • Working with colleagues at all levels and to act professionally on behalf of the University
  • Ability to work independently across a range of activities and plan work effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to quickly pick up new systems
