We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Museum Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of our esteemed museum. The Museum Administrator will play a crucial role in handling film supply and licensing, maintaining the museum’s efficiency, managing resources, and ensuring a seamless experience for visitors, staff, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of museum operations, and a passion for promoting art, culture, and history.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate access, supply, and licensing of film collections to media professionals
  • Provide advice on collections content and copyright
  • Utilise online HD clip supply service
  • Respond promptly to copyright and licensing enquiries
  • Negotiate pricing within guidelines
  • Perform administrative duties including invoicing and HD clip supply
  • Provide research assistance and develop comprehensive knowledge of film collection
  • Seek and engage in business development opportunities
  • Build and drive revenue through relationship management
  • Support pre/post sales activities and wider commercial offer
  • Input and manage customer data in compliance with data protection procedures
  • Manage financial and contractual procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to business planning
  • Represent and promote Media Sales & Licensing, film collection, and the museum

Desired qualities

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a passion for 20th and 21st-century history.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Professional sales experience, with a proven track record of achieving targets.
  • Confident in dealing with customers and negotiating effectively.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of the museum’s film collection.
  • Proactive in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using digital platforms and online services.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
