This Marketing Officer role spans both general and subject-specific marketing activity for student recruitment purposes
and is central to the work of the Marketing and Communications team in effectively promoting the
University’s offer to prospective students. The post holder delivers marketing campaigns, builds and maintains the University’s public-facing website content, leads on content creation for the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate course portfolio, and helps coordinate activity on the University’s other key marketing channels.

Key areas:

● The delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate marketing campaigns.
● Content creation for prospective student audiences across print and digital platforms.
● Undergraduate and postgraduate course database management and insight.
● Liaison with internal and external stakeholders such as key agencies, recruitment leads and academics.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The postholder will:
1. Develop and deliver marketing campaigns for the University’s academic schools to increase enquiries and applications.

2. Act as a lead content creator for print and digital platforms – taking responsibility for projectsfrom inception to delivery.

3. Act as a lead user of the University’s content management system and create outstandingtargeted web content to drive student recruitment, including search engine optimisation (SEO).

4. Manage the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate course portfolio across print anddigital formats, including in the University databases, on London Met’s public-facing website, onthird-party websites and in prospectuses, ensuring information is enticing, accurate (Competitions and Markets Authority compliant) and grammatically correct.

5. Act as the first point of contact for the academic schools, advising them on options for marketing and ensuring high levels of customer service for key stakeholders levels of customer service for key stakeholders.

6. Coordinate and support the University’s network of website contributors, liaise with the technical web team, maintain website publishing guidelines, and edit and approve content produced by contributors across the University.

7. Report on digital analytics and sector insight to inform marketing strategy.

8. Act as a brand guardian, working with Marketing and Communications colleagues to maintain, develop and advise colleagues on the University’s corporate brand and style guidelines.

9. Work closely with the University’s Enquiries and Conversion team to ensure leads generated through marketing activity are nurtured through to enrolment

10. Develop effective networks with key internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of University-wide targets, providing a high level of service.

11. Deputise for the Marketing and Campaigns Manager and support the work of other academic schools when required.
