HR Partner (Medical Research).

Our client is a world-leading medical research centre is looking for an HR Partner to join their team. This is a permanent role and is to start ASAP.  They currently operate a hybrid work model.

The main duties of the HR Partner role are:


  • Contribute to and help deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Build relationships that allow plans be translated into operational actions
  • Ensure that HR policies and practices are fully embedded and operational
  • Ensuring HR policies are up to date and compliant with legislation and best practice
  • Developing relationships that fosters ownership for improving performance and capability
  • Delivering business change programmes, in a complex and unionised organisation
  • Work with managers to develop recruitment/succession planning etc
  • Support managers in the interpretation and implementation of all employee policies
  • Question the status quo & anticipate future challenges  
  • Ensure that centrally led initiatives such as annual performance review are implemented
  • Ensuring that all communications are timely, accurate and actionable
  • Establishing processes that anticipate any potential issues
  • Quickly build relationships across the organization
  • Experience of casework at informal and formal stages, investigation & hearings

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role preferably within higher education
  • CIPD qualification or have equivalent professional experience
  • Operational and managerial HR and administration experience essential
  • Be results focussed and show experience of change management
  • Creating actionable HR strategies that translate into operational plans
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build, develop and maintain supportive and constructive working relationships
  • Highly organised, logical along with ability to handle many competing priorities
  • Acts with honesty, integrity, and discretion
  • Approachable and good listener
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
