EDI Project Officer.

Our client, a world-leading medical research centre is looking for an EDI Project Officer to join their team. This is a permanent role and is to start ASAP.  They currently operate a hybrid work model. 

The main duties of the EDI Project Officer role are: 

  • Contribute to and plan delivery of strategic initiatives
  • Project managing EDI and other staff-related workstreams and projects 
  • Liaison with departments to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Build relationships that allow plans be translated into operational actions 
  • Delivering business change programmes 
  • Mentor HR team on approaches leading to a more diverse organisation
  • Act as source of expert knowledge in all matters of EDI
  • Ensure EDI is taken into account across the employee life cycle
  • Supporting policy review and development of EDI and related policies
  • Project managing the design and implementation of staff related initiatives & projects 
  • Develop and produce high-quality papers 
  • Ensuring all proposals are practical and evidence based
  • Lead on collation, and submission of pay gap data 
  • Ensure effective strategic communication and stakeholder engagement 
  • Ensuring that all communications are timely, accurate and actionable
  • Establishing processes that anticipate any potential issues
  • Quickly build relationships across the organization
  • Experience of casework at informal and formal stages, investigation & hearings 

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Experience of planning & delivery change management projects
  • Extensive EDI knowledge and evidence of achievements within a complex organisation
  • Developed leadership ability, particularly gained in an organisation experiencing change
  • Achievements in delivery of equality objectives and culture change
  • Significant track record in external verification and assessment of EDI 
  • Excellent relationship building abilities across a range of stakeholders, including senior management, staff networks and trade unions 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience of supporting and/or delivering staff wellbeing initiatives
  • Extensive project management and project delivery experience 
  • Ability to build, develop and maintain supportive and constructive working relationships 
  • Highly organised, logical along with ability to handle many competing priorities 
  • Advanced data synthesis abilities from inclusion datasets to translate the bigger picture 
  • Acts with honesty, integrity, and discretion
