Conference Manager (Not for Profit).

Our client an International Membership organisation based in Central London is looking for an experienced Conference Manager to take responsibility for all organisational and logistical aspects for eight specialist conferences per year to start ASAP.  

Please note that some flexibility is required as there will be long working hours when on-site at Conferences. You need to be available to travel abroad when needed.

The main duties of the Conference Manager role are:

Research, select and negotiate contracts for conference and social function venues.
Prepare conference budgets, calculate registration fees and monitor spending
Co-ordinate and compile the conference printed programmes with Committee Chairs, speakers and in-house departments
Responsible for liaison with venues regarding food and beverage and audio visualrequirements including guaranteeing numbers
Provide on-site staffing and be responsible for the smooth running of the conference
Oversee conference registration and speaker management
Oversight of database input, badges, lists of participants, speaker presentation communication
To assist with general email and telephone queries.
Annual conference – assist with general registration queries, amendments and cancellations, social function ticketing, badge outputs and onsite staffing when required
Adherence to corporate ethos at all times
Customer focused

Skills and experience

Be educated to a minimum of A level standard
Have a background in Conference organisation
Work with a helpful, friendly, positive, outgoing attitude & be customer focused
A good telephone manner and the ability to deal with people of different nationalities
Strong attention to detail
Computer literate and have good working knowledge of packages eg. Word, Excel, Outlook and Databases
Good times management/organisation and flexible attitude
