Admissions Officer.

Our client, a University, is looking for an Admissions Officer to start ASAP.  This is a permanent role, and the team is currently working to a hybrid model (minimum two days in the office but flexible working can be requested).

The main duties of the Admissions Officer role are:

Make timely admissions related decisions consistent with agreed criteria
Receive applications for courses and process in line with appropriate university policies
Plan and prepare to achieve and meet deadlines in accordance with UCAS and those internally set for direct applications
Liaise with Faculties to understand special complexities and requirements for individual applications as appropriate
Make decisions and process applications in accordance with agreed entry requirements and refer when required
Tuition fees assess applicants as required
Arrange applicant interviews when appropriate and make any other special arrangements as required by Faculties
Record all declared qualifications in line with student record protocols
Enter application decisions, using standard coding for both university and UCAS systems
Deal with enquiries and queries from Faculties, various external bodies, other offices, and applicants
Undertake special admissions projects as appropriate
Participate as required in university Open Days, training events, taster days and talks
Participate in university groups, committees, or projects
Advise the Supervisor on operational matters, project outcomes, trends, and changes observed, which may have more significant implications
To carry out other duties as specified by the Admissions Supervisor

Skills & Experience

Prioritise efficiently, accurately, and consistently with large volumes of data on bespoke IT systems
Attention to detail, able to create, organise and maintain electronic records
Strong organisational skills, managing own workload with minimal supervision
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work both proactively/individually and as part of a team
Strong communication skills both verbally and written with ability to communicate at all levels
Work in a busy office environment with pressure to meet internal and external deadlines
Good understanding of UK level 3 qualifications
Working as part of an effective team by proactively working with others to achieve team objectives
IT skills (Microsoft packages & database) and ability to take on skills to work with bespoke systems
High degree of accuracy and ability to pay close attention to detail
