Admissions Officer (London University).

Our client, a leading London University, requires an enthusiastic Admissions Officer to start ASAP.  The role will operate in a hybrid format, and you are required to go into the office at least once a week.

The main duties of the Admissions Officer role are:

  • Taking the lead responsibility for application processing
  • Assess the applications for a number of courses, either undergraduate or postgraduate.
  • Appraisal of applications and making of selection decisions within agreed criteria
  • Working with tutors to ensure fair and transparent admissions processes are adhered to
  • Monitor the achievement of recruitment targets
  • Advise applicants on fee payment regulations and procedures
  • Ensure that all incoming students are liable for the correct level of fees
  • Process non-standard home/EU/international undergraduate and postgraduate applications
  • Provide administrative support in setting up interviews and tests
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of the recruitment cycle
  • Work closely with key recruitment staff in Academic Schools on applicants presenting with non-standard qualifications
  • Assist with monitoring of data quality issues
  • Communicate with applicants and external bodies such as UCAS/UTT/CAB
  • Assist Academic Schools with the handling of applicant interview invitations where these are required
  • Assist with the development and implementation of processes that seek to increase the number of applicants who proceed to enrol at the University

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of UCAS, UKPASS and University recruitment
  • Experience of implementing policies, procedures, regulations, and published guidance
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to develop close working relationships with a wide range of colleagues
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organise in a systematic way a heavy workload, identify priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Good command and confidence in the use of Microsoft office applications
  • To be able to work in an organised and methodical manner displaying attention to details to manage a heavy workload combined with competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while being self-motivated with a pro-active attitude
